Year 4
Welcome to Year 4
Welcome, we are really excited to get to know you and your children this year and work on some exciting units together. We have lots of different topics coming up this year and this page will give you all of the key information you need to know throughout.
Staff supporting Year 4 from September 2024 are;
Mrs Wall
Mr Wheeler
Mrs Wiltshire
Miss McCallum
Miss Shand
PE Days
This year we will have PE each Monday morning. Please ensure your child comes to school in appropriate PE clothing each and every Monday. Remember children will wear these clothes during break time and dinner time so must be appropriate for the weather.
Swimming
Your child will take part in swimming lessons during the year on a Wednesday. To ensure the children get a longer period in the water at one time the classes change half termly. Please see below for when your child will need their kit.
When it is your child’s turn for swimming they will need to bring in their swimming kit on the Wednesday and will return to school slightly later than normal dismissal time at 3.30pm. Reminders will be sent out the week before your child is due to have their half term of swimming.
4H will be swimming until 29/11/23 and 4G will begin swimming from 6/12/23
Homework
Reading- your child is expected to read at home at least 3 times each week along with an adult signing their reading record – records will be check every Monday for the week prior.
Maths- your child will need to know all of their times tables up to 12x12 by May in readiness for their times table check test. To help with this they are encouraged to play times tables games each and every day at home using the following games/platforms.
