Hall Green Primary School

Nursery - Autumn 2

Our topic has been Our Space and Festivals

We have been learning about houses and homes and our local area. We had lots of
fun reading Three Little Pigs and creating their houses. We have also really enjoyed celebrating lots of festivals including Halloween, Bonfire night, and Christmas. We have learnt about seasons and how they change and had great fun making snowballs with the fake snow.

In Maths we have been counting, learning 2D shapes, positional language and
weighing things. In phonics we have been playing lots of listening games, learning
how to listen for sounds as well as learning about rhythm and rhyme. As well as all this we have been on a walk to the post box to post letters to Santa and he has sent us all a letter back. And we had an amazing time at the Sealife Centre looking at all the sea creatures including sharks. We also got to meet Santa.

At the moment we are celebrating Christmas and we were very grown up going into
the hall to perform our Nativity in front of all the grown ups; we had to learn lots of
songs. Our families have also been in to make Christmas crafts with us which was
great fun. Now we are looking forward to our disco and party day. It’s so exciting!
