Autumn 2 update - Year 5
What a start to the year!
It’s been an incredibly busy but rewarding term for Y5. We have been learning about the Romans and reading the book Survivor: Escape from Pompeii. Children have enjoyed learning about Roman art, architecture and their history.
When we first told children that our outdoor learning unit would be just before Christmas, you could forgive them for not wanting to be outside in the cold and wet! But in all honesty, the children have been brilliant and thrown themselves in to every challenge they have been set. We have built dens, aqueducts and roads among other things and our outdoor waterproofs and wellies were certainly well-used.
Computing has been a really interesting unit as children have been challenged to recreate famous pieces of art using only an iPad!
Overall, it’s been a great start to Year 5 and the children have a lot to look forward to in the new year.
Merry Christmas to you all!
