  • Wonderful World of Year 3

    Published 22/10/19

Year 3 started the year with a very mysterious occurrence in the school garden. Children were horrified to discover that we had been visited by The Ironman, a character from the Ted Hughes story, who had made such a mess!

It’s a good job the children were learning how to sort materials using forces and magnets in Science, this has pleased Mr Jeavons immensely as they went on to design and manufacture prototype machines, which could sort and tidy our space!

We have thoroughly enjoyed reading about The Ironman in our Literacy lessons, whilst in Maths, we have covered place value, addition and subtraction.  It’s been brilliant problem solving and polishing our skills of column method.

Stories have been important in RE as well this term, focusing on Christianity and The Creation story.  We can tell you exactly how many days it took for God to create the world! Wow!

In Computing we have learnt some very important lessons about how to stay safe online, creating perfect passwords and rules of respect!  We'd love you to ask us all about it!

Overall, it has been a great start to the year. Look out at Christmas for our update and the end the next term!
