Pupils awarded new roles and responsibilities
New House Captains!
As always, this new academic year has seen a new group of year 6 children taking on the important role of being a House Captain. It was wonderful to see so many Year 6 children wanting to be the role model for their house team. After delivering their speech to the whole school and then a school vote, for 'Fire' we welcomed Carter and Jose, for 'Water' we welcomed Logan and Madiyah, for 'Air' we welcomed Nora and Ruby and for 'Earth' we welcomed Aarav and Callum.
Each half-term, they will meet with Miss Lewis to discuss any whole-school ideas, activities and competitions that they might want to organise with, of course, lots of house points as part of the winning prize!
Along with their weekly duties in our Friday celebration assemblies, they have already planned a successful Halloween pumpkin design competition and are now busy thinking of some new and exciting house point competitions for the upcoming term. We will look forward to their next competition!
School Councillors and Playground Buddies.
As well as new House Captains, we also welcomed some new faces to join our School Council and Playground Buddies. We have already had our first meeting where children were given their badges to wear with pride and a certificate. They will meet with Miss Lewis every half-term to brainstorm exciting fundraising charity events and share new ideas for happy playtimes. The School Councillors are already thinking of a mixture of competitions for the upcoming Children in Need and activities to commemorate Remembrance Day in November.
We will look forward to working together in the next term!
