Safer Internet Day 2026

On Tuesday 10th February 2026, we will be joining schools and organisations across the UK and around the world to celebrate Safer Internet Day. This year’s theme is:

“Making Smart Tech Choices: Safe, Responsible, and Positive Online”

The aim of the day is to help children and young people develop the skills they need to navigate an increasingly AI-powered and connected world. We will be exploring how to:

  • Stay safe when using apps, games, and online platforms
  • Recognise and respond to misinformation
  • Protect personal information and privacy
  • Use technology positively and respectfully

Throughout the week, pupils will take part in age-appropriate activities, discussions, and creative projects to help them think critically and act responsibly online.

How you can support at home:

  • Talk to your child about what they enjoy doing online and who they interact with
  • Explore online safety resources together (e.g., Childnet, UK Safer Internet Centre)
  • Encourage open conversations so your child feels comfortable sharing any concerns

By working together, we can help our children enjoy the benefits of the internet while staying safe and confident in their digital choices.
